Connie Fail

Connie Fail is an RN with over 30 years of cardiac surgical ICU experience at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Connie has been a member of Team Heart since 2009, stepping out of her comfort zone of a high tech, academic medical center ICU to volunteer her time as an ICU nurse with Team Heart in Rwanda. The people of Rwanda found a place in her heart, and Connie has returned every year since to lead the nursing team.

She is the mother of 3 beautiful daughters and credits her husband Rick and her family for supporting her through all her endeavors with Team Heart. Connie believes healthcare is a human right, and it is up to each of us to not only believe in it, but to work to make it a reality. Team Heart has given her that chance.

After I returned from Rwanda, each time I passed my to do list, my pencil hovered to cross off Rwanda–I could not do it. Rwanda was not finished.

I am thankful to Team Heart for saving my life and allow me to return to my studies energetically and it does me proud to be studying public health

Rwanda can eradicate rheumatic heart disease in a generation-it is an achievable goal

I consider being a part of Team Heart to be the biggest achievement in my nursing career, and one of the best parts of my life!
