Martin Zammert, MD

Dr. Zammert received his medical degree from the University of Ulm/Germany.

After initial training in anesthesia at the University of Tuebingen/Germany, he completed anesthesia residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, followed by a fellowship in critical care medicine as well as a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at the same institution.

Dr. Zammert joined the faculty at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and during his time served as the Director of Vascular Anesthesia, the Director of the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit and as the Interim Associate Chair of Surgical Critical Care, before joining the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center as Chair of Surgical Critical Care.

Martin has been a member of Team Heart since 2012 and has joined the team on multiple trips to Rwanda over the years.
